Name Generator

The Name Generator uses AI to produce creative, strategic brand names tailored to your idea. It evaluates each name against memorability, distinctiveness, and domain quality to give you a ranked shortlist.

Writing an Effective Name Prompt​

The more specific your prompt, the better the names will be.

Good prompt elements:

  • Product or service type
  • Target audience
  • Brand personality (bold, warm, minimal, playful)
  • Name style preference (short, invented, real word)

Example prompts​

"A B2B SaaS tool for product teams to manage customer feedback. Should feel sharp, modern, and trustworthy. Prefer short names, ideally one or two syllables."

"A DTC skincare brand for women in their 30s. Clean, clinical but warm. Evocative names that feel elevated without being pretentious."

"A craft beer brewery in Amsterdam focused on experimental small-batch IPAs. Edgy, creative, a bit irreverent."

Reading the Results​

BrandForge returns 12 names sorted by brand fit. Here's how to read each card:

  • Name — The suggestion (large, top)
  • Type tag — coined / evocative / compound / metaphor / descriptive
  • One-liner — What the name evokes and why it works
  • Match % — Brand fit score (higher is better)
  • Domain list — Three options with live availability and price
  • ★ star — BrandForge's recommended domain for this name

Filtering and Sorting​

After generating, you can:

  • Regenerate — Get 12 completely new suggestions
  • Search a specific domain — Check if a name you have in mind is available
  • Continue chatting with the Copilot to refine (e.g. "shorter names only" or "more evocative, less technical")

Selecting a Name​

When you find a name you like:

  1. Click Select this name — this locks in the name as your brand's working name
  2. The selected name appears in your workspace header
  3. You can still change it later from Settings → Workspace → General

Selecting a name does not register a domain — that's the next step.

Don't overthink it

The best brand names are often simple and unexpected. A high match score is a good signal, but trust your instincts too. You'll be saying this name thousands of times.
