SEO
The SEO module gives you control over how your website appears in search engines and when shared on social media. Set page-level meta titles, descriptions, and URL slugs for every page on your site.
Accessing SEO Settingsโ
Per-page SEO (recommended)โ
In the Pages editor, click anywhere outside a section to deselect it. The right panel switches to Page SEO settings for the current page.
SEO moduleโ
Go to Digital Presence โ Website Builder โ SEO for a full-site overview of all page SEO settings in one place.
Page SEO Fieldsโ
Meta Titleโ
The title that appears in:
- Browser tab
- Google search results (the blue clickable headline)
- Social media link previews (Open Graph title)
Best practices:
- Keep it under 60 characters (the character counter shows
0/60 chars) - Include your brand name โ typically at the end: "Our Services | Luminary Coffee"
- Use the target keyword for that page near the beginning
Meta Descriptionโ
A summary of the page that appears:
- Under the title in Google search results
- In social media link previews
Best practices:
- Keep it under 160 characters (the character counter shows
0/160 chars) - Write it like a mini-ad for the page โ compelling and relevant
- Include the primary keyword naturally
- Don't duplicate the meta title
URL Slugโ
The URL path for this page, e.g. /about, /services, /blog/how-to-brew.
Rules:
- Lowercase only
- Use hyphens to separate words (no spaces, no underscores)
- Keep slugs short and descriptive
- The homepage slug is always
/โ cannot be changed
Changing a URL slug: Changing a slug changes the page's URL. If your page is already indexed by search engines or linked elsewhere, set up a redirect or update the links. BrandForge does not automatically create redirects.
Site-level SEOโ
The SEO module overview shows all pages in a table with their current:
- Page name
- Meta title (with character count warning if over 60)
- Meta description (with character count warning if over 160)
- URL slug
- Last edited date
Click any row to edit that page's SEO settings inline.
Open Graph & Social Sharingโ
BrandForge automatically generates Open Graph tags using your per-page meta title, meta description, and featured image (for blog posts). These control how your pages appear when shared on LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other platforms.
Sitemapโ
BrandForge automatically generates and maintains an XML sitemap at /sitemap.xml. This is submitted to search engines automatically when your site is published and a custom domain is connected.
Robots.txtโ
A default robots.txt is generated at /robots.txt allowing all crawlers. This is appropriate for most sites. If you need to customize it (e.g. to block specific crawlers), contact support.
Good meta titles and descriptions help with click-through rates immediately. But search rankings take weeks to months to build. Publish regularly to the Blog to accelerate organic growth.
